Dead Fred Pen Holder

dead-fred-pen-holder.jpgI hesitated writing on Dead Fred, but felt like some of you might need a little hostile fun this holiday season.

Even though your desk is probably a crime scene, you might just need a little extra yellow tape around the perimeter with the Dead Fred Pen Holder.

Stab away at Fred as long as you need after that downsizing meeting with personnel and know that your pen will be safely stored in Drop Dead Fred.   At just $10, it’s harmless and needed fun.

tivo-dominos-pizza-delivery.jpgThe time has come when the ultimate universe has finally been created, you can now TiVo your pizza delivery.  All is now right with the world.

When you see a Domino’s Pizza ad playing all you will need to do is use your remote controller to select the ad.  Once you have accessed the ad, you just then need to use the on-demand ordering system to select which type of pizza you want delivered.  This system is being setup very similar to the earlier Amazon and Fandango systems.

Then all you have to do is get to the door with the cash, or can we get TiVo on that as well?

numberkey-iphone-app.gifAs Gizmodo said, the simplest things usually end up being the best, most usable ideas, and the Numberkey is certainly no exception.

Thanks to the new Numberkey iPhone app you can stop carrying around a notebook and commit entirely to your iPhone.  With this new app you can turn yourself back into an accountant with an easy-to-use numberpad for those spreadsheets or entering long sequences of numbers like credit cards.

For just $1.99, this simple yet elegant tool is making it hard for laptops everywhere.

netflixtivo103108.jpg

The TiVo Series 3 and TiVo HD will be joining the Xbox360 and Roku (and a few Blu-Ray players) in offering Netflix’s “Watch Instantly” feature.

This is a great feature that allows users to watch various movies and television shows instantly if you are a Netflix subscriber. This adds to Netflix’s ever expanding usability of this service, which is also coming to the Mac platform very soon.

I think Netflix is doing this for a number of reasons - one of which is to “future-proof” their company by being prepared for that day when we no longer use disks for our movies and TV shows. Oh, won’t that be a happy day?

g1-walmart.jpg

Big news today for T-Mobile and Google’s G1. The G1 is coming to a Wal-Mart near you - and it’s going to be $31.11 cheaper than if you bought it from T-Mobile directly.

Apparently 550 Wally World stores will be carrying the phones starting TODAY. So - those of you that bought your phones on the 22nd? Well - you got screwed out of $31.11 — so you might want to make a call on your awesome new phone about that.

R.I.P. VHS Player 1975 - 2008

010_16.jpg

Right it down ladies and gentlemen. October 27th, 2008 is officially the day the VCR died.

I know - you probably haven’t thought about the VCR in a very long time. Maybe not even this century - but JVC was holding on for dear life. They actually just stopped producing stand alone players yesterday.

For those of you that still have a large library of VHS tapes, and you’re afraid your player is going to be dust soon - then you might want to go out and buy a VHS player while supplies last.

You’ll also see VHS/DVD player combos still in production for the time being, but their days are numbered too.

10-25-08-oprah-kindle.jpg

We’ve been waiting for those next-gen Kindle’s to be announced - and it looks like they might be coming soon.

On last week’s show, Oprah announced that the Amazon Kindle was “her new favorite thing”, and then announced that anyone who ordered one and entered the code “OPRAHWINFREY” during check out would receive $50 off the retail price of $359.

It’s only good between now and Nov. 1st….so expect a Kindle 2 announcement sometime in Nov.

truecall.jpg

The UK based company behind TruCall claim that the device will act as an automated secretary on your land line. It will either forward trusted numbers to your phone, or banish untrusted sources with an automated message and push them away.

For £99.99 I’m not sure this is something that’s going to be worth the investment…but I dropped my land line years ago, and I don’t get any telemarketing calls on my iPhone.

If you do still suffer from the necessity of a land line and feel like this will help you, it will be shipping soon.

If you’re the type of person that need to carry around a 2GB USB stick - AND have a skull ring on your finger at the same time…I kind of feel bad for you.

The guys at Solid Alliance, however, think you’re awesome - and have combined your two loves into one of several amazing 2GB USB Skull Rings.

Seriously.

The company knows they’re looking at a niche market product too - because they’re charging a whopping $145 for each ring.

Yes - you read that right. If you feel like one MUST be yours - seek professional help. If that doesn’t work, you can click here for more pics and inof.
